Adventures From China with a layover in Indiana
Hi people reading the Mayhall adventures. I'm Aunt Melissa, and I'm doing my part to make you part of this experience for the family. I'll be posting pictures and updates for Amie and Jerry as regularly as possible. Amie doesn't have the ability to post here from China, but she can email me....so we are breaking down the wall. :) Enjoy!

We are Here!!!!
We landed at 1:26PM in Beijing (12:30AM US time) flight was smooth but long. First flight in the tin can was rough (sickness in a soda bottle).
We got checked in to the hotel, shower time and then sleepy time. It will probably be Sunday before we get to post again due to the $40 a day internet charge. Today (Friday) we are going to Forbidden city (Friday), Tinneman Square and seeing an acrobatic show. We may get to check out the Olympic stadium, too.
Tomorrow is the Great Wall and Summer's Palace. We head to Guangzhou on Sunday and will get our little angel on Monday. :) So excited!!!

Conference Call

We had a conference call with last minute travel advice, and q & a. It is amazing to think that we will be traveling in less than a week! Audrie: We are coming to get you!

Cool Travel Facts

We found out a little more about our travel. We are going to get to see the Great Wall, Summer Palace, and the Forbidden City. We are also going to watch an acrobatic show one day in Beijing!
Once we travel on to Guangzhou, it looks like we have something to do almost every day, but there will be some 1/2 day tours from there. More information to follow!

Gotcha Day!

We were notified of Audrie's Gotcha Day today. Gotcha Day is a day celebrated by adoptive parents and children. This is they day that they are united. We are very excited that Audrie's Gotcha Day is October 11, 2010! This is also my only niece's birthday. She was born in 1994. It will be a wonderful celebration, Autumn is 16, and Audrie is ours!

One more family

We found out today that one more family will be traveling with us to China. They are also adopting from the Guangdong province. So, three families will be adopting from the same province. Our children are all from different cities; however, we will be staying in the same location.

Little facts + Updates
Audrie RoseLynne Mayhall, AKA Zhu Ao Ying was born on May 14, 2008. She resides in Zhuhai City, China in the orphanage there. Zhuhai City is on the Pearl River across the South China Sea from Hong Kong. Zhuhai City many places is referred to as Pearl City, so dad has nicknamed Audrie, "Pearl". She is our pearl!
Information from the latest update:
She is 23 lbs, and 32 inches tall. Her feet translate into a size 6 shoe. She laughs a lot, is using more words, still taking formula supplemented with rice cereal. She is not potty trained. She does not like the "stuffing toy", but loves toys that are colorful or make noises. She eats three main times per day.
We are doing pretty well on clothes. We have one car seat, a stroller, a trike, and a few toys. She could use any kinds of learning toys, and we are estimating 24 months for this fall/winter, and 2t through winter early spring. Probably 3T next summer.
